The Jimmy Carter Library and its museum are operated by the National Archives and are open to the public seven days a week. The Jimmy Carter Library is home to the presidential papers of the Carter Administration. Classroom Connect's home on the Internet is a resource to aid in the location of some of the most interesting and useful information that is available to K12 educators online. The site is a cooperative effort between the staff of Classroom Connect (CRC) and educators around the globe. It provides access to projects like ClassroomWeb, an archive of Schools on the Web, ConferenceWeb, a constantly updated list of educational conferences, the Teacher Contact Database, and the brand-new interactive Virtual Auditorium.
The site is now embarked on an ambitious multimedia publishing program for the K-12 market that includes newsletters, books, videos, computer software, and seminars.

A major GALILEO goal is to ensure universal access to a core level of materials and information services for every student and faculty member in the University System of Georgia-regardless of geographic location, size of institution, or mode of instructional delivery: traditional residential, off-campus, or distance learning.

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) now includes almost 2,255 members. Membership in NASSP includes a wide variety of people interested in secondary education. Although most members are principals and assistant principals in public, private, and parochial secondary schools, many are central office administrators, professors of secondary education, teachers and department heads, or retired educators.
NASSP serves members by:

PALS (Project for Automated Library Systems) is the name of the library system created by its originator, Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota. It provides library services to a host of libraries around the world.
With respect to PALS in Georgia, 47 libraries have a copy of their holdings loaded into the PALS Across Georgia Union Catalog Project. In addition, 12 libraries are actively using PALS as their automation solution with 1 additional library committed to using PALS as resources become available. The PALS Library System runs on a Unisys computer located in Atlanta and serves participating libraries via PeachNet (the statewide network for the University System of Georgia). Through the PALS Across Georgia Resource Sharing Project, automation opportunities are offered to post-secondary academic libraries in the state of Georgia. The PALS Library System software is owned and marketed by Ameritech Library Services.

The U.S. Department of Education's (ED) World Wide Web servers provide useful and timely information about programs, policies, people, and practices that exist at the Department, in projects ED funds, and elsewhere. ED online services were created by and are maintained at the National Library of Education (NLE) in the Department's Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI).
The U.S. Department of Education was established on May 4, 1980 by Congress in the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88 of October 1979).
As an outcome of the historic Governors' Meeting in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1989, the Governors of the 50 states adopted the six National Education Goals for the education of all students in the United States. Two other goals were added later. The National Education Goals are that by the year 2000:
- All children in America will start school ready to learn.
- The high school graduation rate will increase to at least 90 percent.
- All students will leave grades 4, 8, and 12 having demonstrated competency over challenging subject matter including English, mathematics, science, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history, and geography, and every school in America will ensure that all students learn to use their minds well, so they may be prepared for responsible citizenship, further learning, and productive employment in our Nation's modern economy.
- United States students will be first in the world in mathematics and science achievement.
- Every adult American will be literate and will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy and exercise the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
- Every school in the United States will be free of drugs, violence, and the unauthorized presence of firearms and alcohol and will offer a disciplined environment conducive to learning.
- The Nation's teaching force will have access to programs for the continued improvement of their professional skills and the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to instruct and prepare all American students for the next century.
- Every school will promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participation in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children.

This project is an extension of the Hillside Elementary cooperative project with the University of Minnesota College of Education & Human Development and the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement. Web66 participants see the World Wide Web as a catalyst that will integrate the Internet into K12 school curricula. The Web66 project is designed to facilitate the introduction of this technology into K12 schools. The goals of this project are:
- To help K12 educators learn how to set up their own Internet servers.
- To link K12 WWW servers and the educators and students at those schools.
- To help K12 educators find and use K12 appropriate resources on the WWW.
