There are news briefs, but there are also comprehensive examinations of major issues and events. There is news to suit the interest of almost any user. CNN Interactive also finds the right links to expand the story. In essence, they search the Web so the user doesn't have to.
In order to bring the user all the story, CNN has made an innovative arrangement with the LEXIS-NEXIS Information Service. CNN Web users are able to view selected stories from the vast archives of LEXIS-NEXIS, stories from thousands of newspapers, magazines and broadcasters from all over the world.
A continuously updated collection of summaries associated with the 15 minute segments of "CNN Newsroom" aired each weekday at 4:00 AM. The current collection normally includes summaries for about three months, together with MPEG graphics. Archives back to April, 1995 are also available.
The Rainforest Action Network (RAN) works to protect the Earth's rainforests and support the rights of their inhabitants through education, grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action. Since it was founded in 1985, the Rainforest Action Network has been working to protect tropical rainforests and the human rights of those living in and around those forests. There are a number of organizations working on the rainforest issue. RAN is distinguished by its emphasis on grassroots education and action, its networking capabilities, and its commitment to mobilizing citizen activists to respond quickly and directly to the forces that threaten the rainforests.
