A Multimedia Festival Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The second Multimedia Festival focused on the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was completed January 15, 1999, here at Canby Lane Elementary School Media Center. The festival was a two day affair and was scheduled to coincided with the national holiday honoring Dr. King. Enthusiasm, interest and participation by students and faculty was high.

The wealth of materials available concerning Dr. King allowed a variety of student activities. These included:

listening to the "I Have A Dream" speech
visiting selected Scholastic Network web pages which include photos from Dr. King's life from 1958 - 1968
playing the "Martin Luther King, Jr." board game
viewing the video entitled "A Time of Justice - America's Civil Rights Movement"
viewing the laser disc collection of video scenes from the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
